September was just jam-packed with opportunities for international events. From September 23rd through the 26th, OU celebrated Italy Week to celebrate the University’s campus in Arezzo, Italy. One of the events held was a Pasta Making class on Tuesday, the 23rd. Some other friends and I donned some aprons and got ready to get messy.
We started off with a cup of flour and an egg, with a little olive oil. After kneading it thoroughly, we rolled it out as thin as we could.
We could then shape our pasta into whatever shapes we wanted, but I just chose to stick with the basics.
Finally, we were able to cook our pasta and top it off with a little tomato sauce (to be honest, I should have cooked it for a little longer, it was a it too al dente for my tastes).
The class was an easy and fun way to learn about another country’s customs. And plus, now I can make my own pasta (cheaply and quickly), which is awesome for a college student away from home for the first time!
